question for all you writers out there
 

for all the writers on rv, what is your writing strategy and how do you usually come up with your ideas and inspiration?

Reading and thinking.

Writers as in what?

Graff? Rhymes? Prose?

Rhymes. My brain.
Tagging. My brain.
Letters to the president. My brain

idea's come to me naturally, i cant sit down and say oh its time to write, and just think of an idea, when im walking or if im doin something else is usually the time i get the most ideas then i jot them down on paper whether it be just one word that'll remind me of it, or a line, and from that i can figure out if i wanna put a story and broaden that topic, after that when im ready to start writing the story or somethin based on that idea i figure out how everything is gonna work out the beginning middle end then it takes me like mad long to figure out the beginning lines but once that happens it starts coming to me more naturally afterwards and i could keep going, i just basically sit staring at the cieling waiting for it to come to me lol, its weird it feels like sometimes i dont even create it myself really like it comes from the subconscious, i'll just sit there thinking of how to rhyme a couple bars and then something really good will come but its not like i manually pull it out somehow, just happens like nos said, if i dont know every single thing i wanna write about then i feed off of the previous lines and expand on them until it gets boring or redundant then switch to something else

if it's something i know is gonna be long and like have a "message" or some shit, or like on some 100 bars keep going type shit, i'll create an outline of everything i wanna make sure is said in the piece cuz if not i'll end up writing it and then forget about a few key points i wanted included so i do outlines for long writings

ideas and inspiration come from observation, with that said, i haven't had "writers block" since 2002 or 2003 some time. as for the "writing pricess" i dont think i have a process, i just write and make it appealable. pack your medicine in candy. i guess that's way to quantify my process.

Be interesting and amaze. That's the only writing strategy you need.

i hate it when im like walkin down the street without a pen and pad around me n shit and i have a dope idea for a rhyme....usually i still have the rhyme in my mind when i get home and get some paper to write it down, but other times it just evaporates leaving me pissed off...well until i write an equally dope or even doper rhyme

I don't write lyrics anymore, I just come up with lyrics now. I listen to the emotion that a beat puts out. Then i just say whatever comes to my heart. My music is me literally so chances are if you hate my music you hate me...

Word? You write using your blood? Your capillaries?

No nothing ever hits paper and no, generally nothing is pre thought, i make the music a room, i mentally surround myself with the beat and then state my observations. It's real weird, the shit i spit is 1 big freestyle.....
