Apparently you guys changed my perception of God

I don't know exactly when this occurred, but apparently it happened around 2 weeks ago.

I no longer believe in God as one higher being similar to humans that created everything but instead as more of a universal consciousness. As in, everyone's thoughts, feelings, knowledge, and wisdom create a higher power but in the form of everything connected AS one, not one connecting everything. I can't really explain, but in trying to, I referred to a lot of common beliefs (i.e. "God knows everything" etc.) in making sense of it all. For instance, in the model I see God in, God knows everything because God IS everything. God knows your thoughts because YOU know your thoughts.

Also, I saw a movie not too long ago that had some interesting things to say. One part was outlining groups of people who set up random number generators and leave them running all the time. The instant in which a worldwide event happens (they explained this in particular with the reading of the O.J. Simpson verdict) the random numbers are no longer completely random, and make a spike in the number of 0's or 1's produced. Although, obviously, we as humans didn't consciously affect that, it explains that the strong feelings let out at that instantaneous moment caused some sort of a change. This wasn't just with the verdict either, there were a lot of other moments too, I just can't remember them all, lol.

Anyways, here's an IMDB link to the movie I was talking about if anyone's interested, and no, I haven't seen the first one yet.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't consider it a "universal consciousness" per se... It is more like we are expressions of the universe or "God," in the form of conscious beings.

I JUST started thinking like this, and I know it's obvious I have a lot to learn about my beliefs and hone how it all connects, but in the broad perspective that seems to be the best way I can put it.

Yeah I know what you mean... But for it to be nothing but a universal consciousness it would have to be conscious, which it is, but that isn't all it is. There is the stuff that isn't conscious as well.

hey, im glad to hear that man! you're right in a lot of ways, "god" as you choose to call it is connected within and around you. but, it has no conciousness. it IS conciousness. the mass of concious thought it self IS "god", IS a creative energy. or destructive energy depending on how one chooses to allow it into their lives. it is simply energy, you chose to make it positve or negative.

but at the rate you're learning, it looks like you'll take the higher energy and allow your self to become something from it
