Hey wats good yall...just got a question for people that have and use cool edit...i just want to know about editing your vocals, i really don't know anything about editing my vocals i usually just keepin spittin n spittin n spittin untill i hear something i like...anyways if you would just chip in like your editing process and what like certain things do it would help out a lot...thanks

u can figure out everything from there... and also it matter the kinda mic u got

one big thing for me wit the c01u usb mic is that i gotta record on a lower volume to prevent distortion and just turn up the vocals after recording.

lay your verse three times.
Lay dubs twice
lay adlibs once.

well the short look at my 2 step mixing process looks like

vocals --> 36 band EQ (pre) --> compress --> 3 band EQ (post) --/-> export into second step program --> *this step's a secret* -->EQ (to fill) --> soft limiter to target RMS --> 5band compress --/->export back to orig program for final mixdowns --> export completed track to itunes --> convert to mp3.

then, provided everything meets my standards, deliver to the client and onto the next job.
