its the glock in your sock that well make your lip pop,
its the devil on your right shoulder tellin you what to do,
its the gum, the rusty nail and the dog shit stuck to your shoe,
its not just something to do for fun its a way of life,
its when you talk hella shit and get stabed with a rusty knife,
its a couple of homeboys rap battling against each other,
its where no matter the color of your skin everyone is your brother,
its when you got nothin else to do but flow bout what you see,
its when you fuck the girl of your dreams and get an STD,
its when the cops pull you over and find where you stashed your greens,
its the feeling you get when someone dashed your dreams,
its the hate and the love that you feel for your girl,
its the tupac in us all that screams fuck the world,
its when your dad and your mom dont get along,
its the joy you feel when you write your own song,
its the good times and the bad you have been forced to deal with,
its the joy nerds got when they saw revenge of the sith,
its the feeling you get from a job well done,
its when you cant take life no more so you go to the gun,
its also the beginning to a new breed of teens,
its the rise of young kings and queens,
its the only thing you have when all is lost,
its when you well do whatever it takes, nomatter the cost,
its both good and bad but we can call it our own,
thats what hip hops to me and man has it grown.
