i've never liked lakers, but this year they cool. but i'll hate'em again if pistons make the finals

pistons gonna have to step it up and stop playing so damn sloppy. that and if Rondo plays a good game, the pistons really have no chance. Rondo sets up the rest of the celtics, take him out...they turn to shit.

yea rondo is so wack that when sam cassel plays they turn the ball over and cant score but when hes in the offence excels man is that hella wack i went to last nites game 5 and man was the garden rocking i was 9 rows from the floor paid 135 a piece for 2 tix im hoping the celts can end it in game 6 greatest scenario for basketball would be a lakers celtics finals ................go celts

Sam Cassel, is HORRIBLE. Every time he has the ball he thinks he can make a play. Dude is washed the fuck up. Rondo is the celtics go guy. HE has to be making plays, drawing in defenders and dishin back to Allen for Ray to get open looks. Or driving deep and giving it up to Garnet for easy dunks.

I think with the historical rivalry that the lakers and celtics have had, and that both of them are the #1 teams, it would be a fucking sick finals if they were against eachother...

It's true Rondo finds people open, but also last game though he made a lot of sloppy plays. Like LOBBING passes dangerously late in the game. He's lucky none of them got picked off, and then he blew some close range jumpers, but luckily perkins was there to clean that up. And it seemed like he got a lil afraid and passed on some open jump shots, and ended up trying to pass it and turning it over.

But I mean, could be just the inexperience and pressure. But he still is way better than Cassell and finds people. But he still isn't perfect.

^^ dont get me wrong. I dont think Rondo is amazing. He def. aint no Chris Paul. But he's much much better than Cassel.

It's odd, dont' cucha think.....the team that usallly wins in the playoffs is the team with the better point gaurd??? (New Orleans should have beat San Antonio, but they choked)

Rondo is in no way, shape, or form better than Chauncey Billups. Chauncey is a seasoned veteran who would start for almost any team in the NBA, while Rondo would be lucky to be the #2 guy on most teams. Rondo isn't bad, but he just fits well with the big 3 in Boston. He has no pressure on him besides getting the ball to a scorer.....anyone can do that. The only reason he's better than Cassell right now is cause Cassell thinks he's still a scorer, when he's not :thumbup:

They do. They just put their best ball handler in there. You don't have to be a scorer or even know how to play defense, all you have to do is be able to keep the ball from a defender and give it to your best scorers. For some reason Cassell thinks he's supposed to be one of the primary scorers whenever he's in the game, which is why he gets limited playing time. Rondo has embraced his role, but he's taken it a little too far. You have to know when to shoot as well. He gets wide open looks that he passes up with the shot clock low because he knows he's not supposed to be a scorer.


He is, however, getting better. I can see him being a very good point guard who is over shadowed by the better scorers on a team sort of how Eric Snow was his whole career. He plays good defense, handles the ball well, can score when he needs to, now all he needs to do is learn how to make some better decisions, which takes experience :thumbup:
