Time and rolling stone editors are on crack

Guess thats why they gave Raps wackest emcee praise...

Time placed ‘A Milli’ at number four on its songs of the year list, calling its ‘crazy, off-balance wordplay…hypnotic’. Kanye West’s ‘Love Lockdown’ was also in the Time top five.

Rolling Stone called Tha Carter III, the album ‘A Milli’ is lifted from, as the third best album of 2008, topped only by Bob Dylan and TV On the Radio.

Ten bcks says they have no clue about Hip Hop and wanted to 'give back' to the Rap community, so they gave him props.

The only other Hip Hop album to make the Rolling Stone top 50 was Nas’ Untitled album at number 43

What a fucking load a shit.

$10 says the editors asked their teenage daughters what the best rap albums are these days and why.......

Rolling Stone has been weak for years. If you can ever get your hands on an issue from the 60's-70's check it out and compare it to the magazines they put out nowadays. I have a few from 1967 and they are such good reads, so real and actually down with what was dope, not just what people wanted to hear.

It's obvious they would pick Dylan for the top stop regardless of his album being great or a flop, although it was great. TV On The Radio actually had a new sick album too, but I mean they are missing shit like Atmosphere's "When Life Gives You Lemons... You Paint That Shit Gold!".

The thing that killed me about Rolling Stone is when they made the top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time (The Immortals) is that they listed so much whack shit and among the top 100 GREATEST BANDS OF ALL TIME they didn't bother to list Pink Floyd who holds Billboard records and is easily one of the most influential and recognized bands in history.

Here's a quick easy to read version of their list.

Man... Any write up of the greatest bands of all time that doesent include pink floyd is not worth my time to read it.

I will actually blaitantly refuse to read it or pay it any dignifying attention..

Not a fucking chance.

It's not worth your time, it made me sick to my stomach. I'm looking up and down the list wondering why they aren't in the top 5 and then I discover they aren't even on the fucking list.

Like Bukowski said, “Bad taste creates many more millionaires than good taste.”

TeamOne 12-17-08 11:16 AM

no Lupe on their list either???

Ltizzle 12-17-08 02:20 PM

Yeah, that's retarded. They should give more props to the engineer behind "A Milli," we all know it was the bump in that song that made it soo popular.

Both Time & Rolling Stone been on Kanye's dick forever though, so it's no surprise they liked "Love Lockdown."

But I agree, total load of shit.

I am lookin forward to about.com's opinion. They guy seems to have a pretty decent balance between underground and mainstream.

He has Kanye on the list for graduation but he also has Wu-Tang, KRS, El-P, Pharoah, Lupe Fiasco, Scarface, he even has Brother Ali.

/\ /\ /\ the list was made in like 2004 tho when eminem was still like ontop of the world... so thats reasonable, especially when its only like 3 spots on the list

La Cosa Nostra 12-19-08 06:24 PM
