Sound Editing Software (Mac OS X)
I got my beats, and my lyrics, but I need some software that'll let me record over my beats. I also have a Mac, so if you could make sure it's compatible with that, It would be a great help.

um... first get a pc. Then get acid pro or pro tools. i prefer acid pro. learn it... spend a lot of time using it. read up on it. get some manuals. it is a very powerful tool if u know what ur doing.

you can buy pro tools for the mac that is what is used in alot of major studio around here but its not cheap about 500 i think but there is not alot out there for the mac... oh wait do a seacrh for pro tools online and there is a free version that has 8 channels that works on the mac i belive. not as good as the real version but its somthing.. hope that could help

The free version has too much latency, you could try to compensate for it by moving the vocal track back but thats a pain in the ass.
I would recomend the Protools MBox (can get one for around $420). It includes the ProTools LE software. You also check into, Cubase (there is a light version available), or Bias Deck. Any of those will do the trick for you. Don't be suckered over to a PC....the misconception that there is no software for the mac is false.....I've got more than i will ever use. (I use a Digi001 protools setup). |
Yeah stay with a mac that is what is used in blue summit studios and that is where i do all my big time project a very nice studio... www.bluesummitstudios.com the site has not been updated yet sence the owner ship has changed but it still is a very good place to record...and produce.... So yeah there is Mac stuff out there I just don't know any free stuff off the top of my head... Peace
