I have the exact one, it was one of my first purchases, it's a damn good tool. I have created tons of beats with it. You can externaly control it thru midi, and sync it with a synth. It's great for laying down the ground work, but for a layered track, your still gonna need a sythn or keybaord to get some of the frills and shit. I could recomend it, for that purpose, but your not going to be able to produce a hit with that alone, I can tell you that know.

The bass program is awesome, great sounds and your at complete control. Shit that price is fucken great compared to what Ipaid for it a while back. Damn good price, if your not into stealing shit...

save money use a step sequencer or download drums loops and chop em or chop from other tracks

yeah... save for something better... in the meantime... you can make some hot beats on fruityloops , reason, cubase, etc... while you save for something like a mpc2000xl, rs7000, triton, motif, mv8000, mc909....

no why would you buy that?

get a mpd 16.

its arguable but..a mpd 16 and a good computer is more powerful then a mpc2000.
