sitten in a corner i weep/
watch as my homies get killed in da street//
i look at my family and i know how lucky i am to be standin on these feet/
these emotions that i feel are confusing knowing wat ibeen through my sadness runs deep//
runned away twice only to return to a beatin that would leave me scarred/
living throught wat i have noone would know the pain of a fist that hit so hard//
abused by the people i trusted only to hear the i am so sorry over and over/
but they thought they was doing the right thing, after all would you back talk a drunk father//
being as old as i was a had nothin to do, though i was destined to be forever in doom/
he would never have thought where i was for i was allways hidin under my blanket in my room//
seeing the tears he knew they meant weekness, tryin to scramble wat ever bravery i had left/
he grabbed my throat and started to choke me to death//
my mother was scared she diddnt know wat to do/
but wat she did i thank her for that to//
she jumped on him to save my life she told me to run but i couldnt i had to help/
but i was to terrified by him so i hid underneith my blanket in stealth//
dreaming of a place of peace and quite/
then i heard da door burst down by a riot//
relizin that i was finally safe/
i came out from hidin i ran to the arms of whoever it was and they took me away to a brand new place//
went through many problems as a kid a youning tryin to make sumthan outa my life/
as i go to the place where they laid her to rest for her to begin a new life//
every year same day i go back and i say "thank you mom" for saving me/
and i remember that she is lookin down on me always but i always shed a tear//

but those calls u gave me kept me standin my ground//
i know we had sum problems in the past
this time ima make sure that we last//

im a winner like i started at the end of the race//
