Ive always been really big into reggae. They always be have'n some hot azz beats and songs that just be killin a'ybody up in the clubs 4real. Im not talkin just bout Sean paul and Beenie man cuz they straiight. Im talkin bout catz like Red Rat, Elephant Man, Tanto Metro and Buju Banton(just to name a few). Theirs also been alot of cd's float'n around wit mad reggae cats puttin lyrics down over hip-hop artists beats like 50cent, jay-z, nas etc etc. Any of yall be feelin reggae??? Or any of yall like the idea of the hip-hop community adding more reggae type beats/artists in they songs???

reggae is illness,although i think it shoul dstay with reggae yaknow,theres o much mixing of differnt music types,you kinda lkoose the initial image of the combine types that started teh new shit int he first place,if that makes any sense at all.
i like the idea of some reggae influenced tracks,but not huge amounts of the shit,and only if they are done properly by real heads that know their shit,and arent doign it for a profit nahmean.
but yeah, reggae is illness lol.

think the cats that are putting lyrics over mainstream beats are more hardcore dancehall rappers,wich is a style all of its own,and madness to llisten to,if your into that type of shit,suggest going out and finding some of the earliest bounty killer records you can get your hands on,youll be much happy ^-^.
or even some UK hiphop shits have guys using that style to effect.
check out ose dancehall reggae shit at yur local record shop lol,if its decent theyll have heaps of shit to choose from.

Reggae is badass, I saw Buju in Aspen some time back. I dont really like Red Rad, his shit is too high pitched but he does some alright work with Goofy. Lexxus is definately worth checking out, he has a real heavy dancehall style. Lord Kossity, and Nuttea put down some dope dancehall, but it is in French. I recently heard Rocker T, and his shit is pretty good, a lot of songs about weed. In Motego Bay, I met this dude that had a truck full of 45's and would make a ton of mix tapes, I got some good shit from him. Beenie man is good, but most of what is put on CD is very much one style. I have heard him do some Carnival music that is sweet.

true, I agree wit yall. Reggae is def hot shit!!! I really only like it over hip-hop beats if its done well, like some real hardcore reggae artisits. I baught a new reggae cd today called " Soul Controlaz.....reggae meets hip-hop" shit is pretty hot....if your into reggae ide def check it out, shit is hot!!

DanceHall Is What Is Heavily Considered Reggae Now. But Reggae is Dope. Bob Marley, Damian Marley And Some Other Cats Still Puttin Shit Down Even Though Bob Marley is Dead...he is Dope, and Should Get more recognition then 2Pac.

Just a heads up, you all should download the song "Rosta Man" by Vanilla Ice. I dunno what it is about Ice, but he has horrible lyrics, horrible rapping, and he's not that great of a person. But he has got amazing instrumentals. And his Rosta Man is no exception.
