Skin bound bible holding eternities of being within its pages
Creating a bountiful fervor within dying hearts and bleeding souls
We cry to our God and question his every omnipotent action
Scream into an unforgiving night and look for compassion where there is none
Oh great, Nazarene what have you to offer unto us damned souls?
Since the hour you were brought forth from the womb of a virgin
You've done nothing but drown man's desire in a mirage of self-righteous ethics
Stars shine in your name to guide the path of man, but your people are lost
Far off your set path and they now walk daringly into the unknown
Your pain on the cross was but a fragment of the agony of your father
Antagonizing pain creates an unending rage, resentment of your being
I will drive the thorns into your decayed corpse you sacrilegious liar
But one stray sheep cannot alter the flock, so I must return unto my Shepard
Oh damned Nazarene I will avenge thy torment against my best wishes
And resurrect you upon a splintered and blood stained cross of loathing
Now believers and non-believers alike, see your fallen prince rise once again
Through the poverty and destruction you've caused unto this world
You demand victory and demand sacrifice, but still don’t understand truth
Stare deeply into the eyes of your Christ and feel true fear for judgment has come
Scream for your lord and cry to your savior, plead with all of your blackened heart
But in the end the truth is that you and I must die and be cast into the depths of hell

Daaaaang... I can't say that I've read anything recently that has made me think about things like that this much. You present a challenging argument with powerful emotions to back it up. Nothing you've given has come out as a weak stab. Especially not that one line which no joke my jaw dropped at. I may sound like an idiot but it sounded like the searing insults that 2 extremely intellegent people pass back and forth in an argument, if that makes sense... it does to me but I'm a bit off. I liked how you could take a subject that not too many people can write on, pull out all the major points/doubts that people of the common faith may have and give us an awe inspiring peice. Well done, I have much respect for you as a poet... keep droppin deep peices, daring to ask the questions most of us don't, peace

This was.... wordy, to say the least... but awesome in its wordiness! If that makes sense.. Im not sure Im making much sense this morning.. oh yeah, anyway.. to the poem. Loved it. Im in awe of some of the lines you've written, the imagery.. the depth. Such a thought provoking piece, a very dark write.
