Six reasons why I don’t buy CDs at the store anymore…

1. easier to preview tracks online rather than drive to the store and wait for an open listening station
2. running out of storage space for all the CDs I bought just for 1 or 2 tracks each
3. I never know what the store has in stock and what they don't and it's a pain to try and find specific CDs in some of these places where their alphabetical tabs have all been moved around out of order
4. expensive ~ I pay less $ for each track online, and don't have to pay for the tracks I don't want. I'm tired of spending $15-20 bucks for a 10-12 song disc with maybe 2 or 3 tracks that I actually like.
5. It just saves time and it's so much easier. Plain and simple.
6. Car listening. Whether you're using a 1 disc player or a 10-disc CD changer in the car, you know what I mean when I say that it's far better to have compilation discs loaded in with songs you like on them. Having a car filled with CDs that you have to change over frequently is a hassle (and sometimes a hazard)

So, I’ve finally come to the point where music shopping online is preferable than to physically go to the store. I'm curious to know how many other people are following this trend now, and what service has been the best for you. I don't use the file-sharing services, primarily because they're illegal and artists get cheated out of any share. I'm talking soley about the subscription-based ones.

Faggot With One Post. Booo

Support an artist.

If I like an artist I buy them...your probably listening to [insert wack emcee here], so whatever.

The fact that you only listen to 1 or 2 songs makes you a fag in the first place. That just shows you go out and buy 50 cent for In Da Club and 21 Questions and dont pay attention to the rest of the album. Thats not a very good example but all I could think of at the moment. But anyways.. blah!

^^^^I agree with this statement for if u really wanna hear more music from an artist u thoroughly enjoy then wouldnt it be wise to go out and buy their cd so that ur supporting them thus resulting them in being able to release more tracks for their fans...but if ur standing strong on ur opinion then I guess whatever someone else says u'll just ignore for ur inconsiderate solidified view on things are all conceided...

^My Exact Thoughts... You Go And Buy A CD BECAUSE Of The Single... But Then You're Supposed To Listen To The Rest Of The CD... There Are Some Really Dope Songs On The CDs Besides The Ones MTV And BET Tell You Are Dope.

fuck you all... i buy maybe 3 cds a year from my favorite artists and thats it..

downloaders for life!

wogzta 11-05-03 02:27 AM

get off your lazy ass and walk to the record store... support your favourite artists... and anyone who buys a cd for a single is g.a.y.... unless your a nelly or ja rule fan, then everything sounds like an MTV single, so if you consider buying that for any reason other than:
1/ to be used as a drink coaster
2/ to find out exactly how wack it is and then do a review for everyone
3/ to sell it to a 8 year old for more than you payed for it,

you are very, very stupid

I download all my music...until I see it then I buy it. You cab be assured if I lived closer to downtown I'd be fucking poor, but I'd still have the real albums.

If I respect you, if I can listen to your music, I buy.

I was going to get really pissed that you dudes are being so judgemental, but then I came across Axe E. Um's fantastic avatar and sig and, well, um... just sort of felt much better.

First of all, don't be like all the other idiots out there who judge something before ever experiencing it for themselves. Too many people do that, and I know you know what I'm talking about. It's just irritating and dumb. Secondly, I don't listen to the same top 40 crap that the radio force-feeds everybody, so don't make assumptions.
Lastly, I'm supporting artists I like just as much as you are. In fact, I'm probably supporting more of them because I discover new artists all the time on Rhapsody, then pay to copy their music tracks.
I suppose if all of the copies were pirated, then you could say I'm not supporting artists. But Rhapsody is a subscription-based service, so it supports the labels, the artists, etc. Think of it like this; I have access to most of the music libraries from all five major labels. I pay to have access to them all day every day. For that, I pay them $10 per month. If I want to burn a track to disc, then I pay 79 cents for it. That's how the artist gets paid.

The best use for this has been at the office where I work. We can listen to just about anything all day and take turns being the DJ of the hour. It's great, you should try it if you haven't already. But whatever you do, just don't be one of those goobers who says something 'sucks' when they've never even tried it.

There are more than 5 labels in the world, buy the damn cd and support the lesser known people.
