Yeah, Pierce is underrated... but he's got the same problem some of these other guys have got. He's the only real scorer on his team, and therefore he thinks he has to jack up a bunch of low-percentage shots. Even worse (and this is the same thing Doc Rivers stuck McGrady with), they've got him playing point guard. Now, okay, the Celtics don't have a real point guard -- but Pierce's main weakness was always his passing. Now they traded Walker, and they're trying to make him the main assist man, and everything's suffering, not only because he doesn't have that skill but because he has to look for his own shots and other people's shots at the same time. So he's leading the NBA in turnovers.

But yeah, if you got Paul Pierce on a team with a real point guard who could get him high-percentage shots, man, he'd be crazy. He's got a natural outside shot, which is something not a lot of star SG/SFs in the league have these days -- Ray Allen and Stojakovic do, but those guys can't play D or go inside on you.

Still not sure he's better than McGrady, though -- really, both of them suffer from the same problem. When will these dumbass GMs learn -- it doesn't matter how well your shooting guard can pass, you need a real point guard.
