You know something. It isn't as hard to comprehend as some of you think. If you can imagine a kid constantly on the warpath. Ridden with anger and rage for some reason. Resents and abuses his mother for some reason. Any son-mother emotion he has for her is turned into hate and disgust. His mother isn't a 'fighter'. She's submissive, passive..can't control him. Can't argue. Testosterone flowing, one day he just loses it...goes over the edge. She feels helpless. Powerless. Almost paralysed by emotional breakdown.
Er, just a rough perspective of sorts. But just think of it as a gradual build up. Not necessarily all leading up to him raping his mother. Many factors deciding this horrific end.
Oh, and many theories of Freud are being challenged/'proven wrong'. Though still a revolutionary psychologist, of course.
Psychiatric help is of course the way. If not to help the kid. At least to help understand the 'mechanics' behind why he did it. For future reference n all that.
