Question:

Alright, I know this has been asked 6000 times, but I can't find any of the threads that have answers.

1. What equipment do I need to do audio battles? Just a mic and soundcard? I heard something about a pre-amp or pre-mic ? All and all, I'm just really confused about the whole thing.

2. Which brand names do you think I should look at? I'm willing to spend around $200-250 Canadian, maybe more.

It'd be appreciated if you could help me out. I'd be happy to return the favour later on.

Answer

u honestly cant do much of anything for that much cash except buy a pretty decent sound card. its a start tho. u want a condensor mic and preamp. but u need a good sound card to interface it to ur pc. u can get a mediocre mic and preamp for about $175. If your on a tight budget i recommed the presonus blue tube amp and marshall mxl990 mic. u also need a stand, 2 mic cables, and a pop filter. go to musiciansfriend.com.
