mixing is mainly EQing shit and mixing the levels (volumes) of each instrument so that it all sounds good. panning can also be done to seperate instruments and make your beats sound fuller. if you don't have monitor speakers or monitor headphones you cannot mix your tracks correctly. regular speakers change the way music sounds in them to make it sound better. this is why if you make one track and play it in your car, home stereo, friend's stereo, they will all sound different. you need to use monitors to mix it down, then it should sound good in all speaker set ups if mixed propperly.

just go through and make sure all of your volumes sound good together. make sure one melody isn't too loud and drowning out other sounds. EQ instruments that need to stand out more, or that need to be hidden. it just takes time to make everything sound right, but in the end it's worth it. a well mixed beat sounds much better than something just slapped together.
