My home has been this jail site; I got life for killing a guy in a knife fight
Security may be tight but no one can stop me from escaping tonight
My crime was self defence and I’ve served ten years of redeeming
My cell-mate thinks I’m dreaming, but I’ve spent six months scheming
Plan is full proof because I’ve got a bent guard ready on point
Whilst he distracts the other guards, I’ll be busting out of this joint
This place is a living hell but now I’m giving it my final farewell
I already snagged the keys to my cell, and now all is going well
I don’t know how he did it but the guard got everyone distracted
Now I’m out in the yard, there’s a car outside where I’ll be extracted
I wanted my escape to go off without a hitch, now its hit a glitch
I’m only halfway across the pitch, lights have caught me…”What a bitch!”
Now there was no fire but instincts told me to ‘Stop’ ‘Drop’ and ‘Roll’
Luckily it worked out as the light passed by on its set patrol
I got to my feet and calmed myself down trying to regain control
Then I set off on a sprint heading directly towards my escape goal
Less than a minute I hit the gate, all that stood in my way was the barb wire
I began to climb; not turning back cuz freedom was too much of a desire
I reached the top and ripped away at the wire as it tore into my hand
Blood constantly dripping, this wasn’t exactly what I had planned
But I can’t stop now……I pulled and the barb wire finally came free
I cut myself as I hopped over, now more blood is dripping from my knee
In my car now with the engine started……my escape is over…done
But I ask myself was it worth it, now I’ll spend my life always on the run!!
