Recent events got my mind thinkin of the precious lives lost//
For a war that should never have been fought we’ve paid a high cost//
Borders crossed, governments set up with foreigners named as boss//
Betrayed trust, how could the movement destroy life so fast?//
Actions of the war on 24 hours newscast, more soldiers lost to a bomb-blast//
How can we try to justify actions knowing that we’ve trespassed?//
We just gotta try to sit tight till the blood lust fades and the wars passed//
innocent people involved not because they want but because they must//
so many soul’s crushed, destroyed and turned to dust//
deranged politicians acting as if the country serves them, not the reverse//
soldiers should be leaving the conflict in a plane not a bodybag or hearse//
shouldn’t be dying for oil or commerce, shouldnt have to injure or do worse//
many races fighting, the conflicts diverse, but how does this make it any less perverse?//
express my feelings in words, trying to get across how I feel this war is absurd//
to many reasons why these words should be heard//
to many lives have been broken or blurred//
not enough reasons why this war should occur//
