but i'm bout 2 speak out on this so i guess they gon' hate me/
now cosby was speakin some truth and some was far fetch/
its amazing how we point out the negatives and the positives we dont get/
but lets not forget, its our race thats locked behind bars/
for doing stupid ish,like stealing a pair of shoes to taking other peoples cars/
but we shoot for the stars, when we trying to be on BET/
and laugh at the possibility of obtaining a college degree/
and yeah some of us were dealt a tougher hand than others/
but thats still no reason to blame your situation on skin colors/
lets talk about the fact that you skip school 2 smoke weed/
and run around the neighborhood with every girl sowing your seed/
and i believe, the only way that we can truly overcome/
we must start facing the facts and stop acting dumb/
stop blaming the man for everything that goes wrong in your life/
you aint the only one that has it hard everyone goes thru strife/
we aint never had it easy so why do you expect it to start now/
you only got one opportunity so you best make it count/
its time out for complaining and time in for re-arranging/
we all got problems but dont let that stop you from gaming/
