(A News reader on the television.)
"We have just recieved a report.. There is a ball of rock hurtling towards the planet that is twice the size of Manhatten.. We do not yet know how far away the asteroid is, however it has been confirmed that it is on a direct collision coarse with the planet Earth......."
"At First Glimpse"
My heart stops with the world, as we hear the breaking news..
A mind blank creates an aura, silence capsulates my moods..
The countdown to judgement day, a psychological nightmare..
My hair stands on its end, as my concience becomes aware..
Of the trauma of this disaster, started off as a normal day..
Now my dreams for the future, within a blink drifted away..
What happens now? Whos to blame? How longs left on the clock?..
Living life now relates to trying to find blood inside a rock..
Transmission cuts, flash back to sitcoms like nothings wrong..
I walk outside, look to the sky, then collapse upon my lawn..
(A specilist's report.)
"It has been confirmed that this rock, upon impact, will strike with the force of over 50 nuclear warheads. It is believed it will hit in a location in the Antarctic region, instantly melting the polar ice caps and sending 100 foot Tidal waves in every direction....."
"Chaos Reigns"
As anticipated, the world reached new~heights~of catastrophe..
Reports of mass suicide, rape, and plenty religious blasphemy..
Hearing gunshots and screams inside homes of peaceful families..
Seeing blood drop in dreams, while stressful anxiety captures me..
This is the world without hope, without laws & social boundrys..
Extreme ways of living, & un-forgiving truths told profoundly..
Our cirtain death drove us crazy, all morals suddenly lost..
We were living on the edge, lines of sanity~already crossed..
Most buildings were randsacked, in days, many militants arrose..
With a new moon formed in the sky, symbol of death.. I suppose..
(A presidents speech to a crowd of thousands)
"We as a people, are at a time of great peril. It is true, that a lot of us will not survive to see the day after tomorrow. So I advise you to stay with your families, as I will be. This will be the last transmission made. Goodbye friends, and may peace be with you."
"The Dawn Of Judgement Day"
The morning was silent, in the aftermath of a violent night..
Many had died, and those who survived confided in suicide..
The world was still, a cold tranquil feeling beneath my feet..
Wandering the streets, full of crashed cars and the deceased..
A backing track, melodic rumble of earth being knocked around..
Gaining ground, the feeling of anticipation becomes profound..
Im scared.. I cant cope.. My stomach fluids inside my throat..
Hearing a crash, taking cover praying for any form of hope..
But as I peer around the corner, I throw up inside the room..
A great tremendous wall of water, spelling my cirtain doom..
"Final Thoughts"
Was the world amazing anyway? So many problems existed daily..
Famine in third world countries, & so much gang violence latly..
Extremist's suicide bombing, the public controled like puppets..
Long hospital waiting lists, extortionists playing governments..
What happened to a world, where we respected our fellow men..
It seems weve become acustomed, to blindly following every trend..
Not to mention money & power, destroying and corrupting lives..
Not realising other people, have their own thoughts & vital signs..
So as my life drifts away, drowning & bones crushed from pressure..
I ponder the worlds problems, wishing to drift off in eternal pleasure..
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Epicurus (341 BC - 270 BC), from Diogenes Laertius, Lives of Eminent Philosophers.
