A life without freedom isn’t really a life…
If I couldn’t be a free man, kill me tonight…
We take it for granted, but we know is essential…
People who aren’t free can never reach their potential…
Gifts go ignored, when you’re shackled in life…
I’m just so thankful, that we tackled the strife…
Chains and bars, cuffs and ropes…
Every one of them can cut ya hopes…
But more than that, when dreams are suffocated…
Ideas are desecrated, instead of demonstrated…
Everyone can contribute, but most think they’d be ignored…
Which is sad because their ideas should be explored…
To some freedom doesn’t mean to not be chained…
But to be listened to thoroughly, and not feel shame…
Government isn’t the only thing that takes freedom away…
It could be a parent to a kid, or a homophobe to a gay…
We can be put down, that’s when we need the strength to get back up….
But some just give up, mentally aren’t strong so they just pack up…
But not me, I’d say Patrick Henry said it best…
It’s either, “give me liberty or give me death”…
