The whole point to producng gangsta rap was originally so people who live in Ghettos can relate to it. Nowadays it's all about how much money you got and how many niggaz you killed with your shotty. G unit are a classic example of this.
G unit only exist purely because Eminem and Dre know they can make easy millions out of them. They are Hip Pop.

^thats a big WERD....i pesonally think dre and eminem know they suck/disgrace to real rap but the only reason they keep them is cuz they make a lot of money cuz of their image...but its sad that gangsta rap has gotten to the point where its "cool" to shoot someone, or its "cool" to rob, or "cool" to constantly have gun and drug references in every rap they make...thats wat gunit stands for...and its not right, but watever...hopefully people like nas and tupac that make music for the message to prevent those things from happening will rise again...
