Watching In The Mountains (continued)
IP:
The next morning I was woken by, “Happy birthday!”
“Wha.. what?”
“Happy birthday son!”
“Oh thank you. What time is it?”
“Well, why don’t you check, Roger?”
“ With what? I don’t have a clock. Our clock is in the kitchen.”
“ Not anymore hunny! We got you a watch!”
“ Really?” I asked.
“ Yup, RJ. Here you are son.”
I looked over the watch. It wasn’t the best, but then it wasn’t like others. It had a blue wristband, it looked liked it had been cleaned a little bit. The frame was black and gold with some silver. The really odd thing was the time. It showed the time like most watches, but instead of 7:30 it showed 20,001,122,012,515. The date also was there. It showed the month, day, and year.
“Hey mom, why does it show that huge number?”
“I don’t know. I can’t change it though. Maybe you can.”
They left after the fun was over. I looked it over again and noticed the buttons on the side. They said: mode, time, set, and when. That’s weird.
I went over the watch carefully. Everything I tried wouldn’t fix it. Finally I figured I would try the when button. I pressed it and all of a sudden my room started spinning. I looked around and saw nothing but a blur. I pressed the when button again and my room was back.
“What was that?” I thought. “Maybe I was dreaming. Ya that’s it, I was dreaming.” I pressed when again and my room disappeared. I was in the blur again. I hit the button again and I saw my bed.
I went down to my parents and almost screamed,” Mom, Dad, where did you get this watch!?”
“ Now honey that would ruin it.”
“ I don’t care if it is used! I want to know where you got it!”
“ Listen honey,” my mom trying to coax me.
“ No! Mom I pressed a button and my room would disappear. I would re-press it and my room would re-appear! It’s amazing!”
“Now, RJ son, you know that it is just a watch?”
“I know dad, but its amazing! Watch I’ll do it again!”
