All Boxed In

Look at me, what do you see, is it a normal appearance?
Society, has been discreet, worried no one will hear it
I fear it may be my fault, as doubt's shadow engulfs my soul
My goal is to fit in, because an outcast can never be whole
So I blend into the crowd, and nod my head to all that’s said
A mass of black suits, repetitious clones who bleed red
Same routines every day, monotone voices surround me
Rain clouds follow me, mimic my life plane and dreary
I walk amongst the crowd, head down to avoid the embarrassment
Of what I hide inside, I cry and try to carry repent
Wish to let it all out, but I would be quickly rejected
Cast down from the ladder, where uniformity's respected
Feelings are weighing me down, but I make sure they hide
So I keep all forms of emotion, safely locked inside
Won’t ever let them out, those different are the enemy
Stopped growing before potential, and what I was meant to be
Divided what was given, and what was sent to me
A blanket of insecurity, covering my true identity
They try to break free, takes all my will to stop them
Everything I ever wanted, remains all boxed in
