Cold Rain

Opaque skys roll blanketing me in grey
Droplets descend
Tears from heaven
Foreshadowing gloom is on the way

A barrage of tiny droplets explode
Miniature bombs
Impacting ground
Seeping down to forgotten souls

The drops burn my body with chills
Saturate my skin
Seeping within
Numbing all exposed cells and my will

I feel the helplessness of tomorrow
Im caught here
God's spittin fear
Drowning His creation in his sorrow

Completely submerged in my destiny
Staring at the sky
Open my mouth wide
I drink his tears without questioning

And for that moment I'm whole
Lifeless and cold
Raining on homes
His feelings freeze all warmth
