Golden Steps

Looking down the face of eternity
staring into the collective soul of all that is right
gone from this life of sin, slowly i repent
i accept into my life all that is powerful and good
where once i was weak i am now strong
i grow stronger still with the time that slowly passes
my once dark and unenlightend soul is now
a flutter with hope and the prommise
of a new day, a new dawn and a new life
to make all the wrongs into rights
to replay every hateful second of my existance
i kneel as i pray, i vow to only do right
on my remaining journey so as i can meet god
that fateful day, the day of my judgment
for him to touch my shoulder and tell me ive done good
as i pass through the gates and walk up the golden steps
into the awaiting bliss i know my journey is complete
