It actually does matter. You need some decent headphones for studio quality shit, if thats what you're after.

if the mic your using is a condenser with a large diaphragm, it picks up the beat playing out of shitty headphones. So you can hear it on the recording, thus it lowers quality.

If your out to get dope high quality mic, pre amp, all that jazz then you'll wanna get some decent headphones as well.

But if you were just wondering whether you needed to upgrade ya headphones outta the blue, nah you dont... cos most mics dont pick that shit up. well most dynamic mics anyway.
