Unconditional Violence
Blue skies within my world like a sea above my head,
In addition, flowers beside me smell like spring's flowerbed.
Streets lined with kids all laughing and enjoying the sun,
Their fun made short when a person starts toying with a gun.
There is no ground for the violence, except for innocence on hold,
What once was summer is now the middle of winter’s cold.
Lemonade stands stay tall, while the adults seem to fall,
Children screaming and running to hide behind any kind of wall!
This child's mind which posses such strength is evil to all who seek,
Who try to discourage those who are small, humble, and weak?
Such violence and power in one person's hand scare many to without words,
And intervention could have prevented life’s loss and screams to be heard.
Why do people ignore the people whose lives need the special attention?
Why do they think that just because he is not mentioned he does not feel the tension?
Lives are lost because of egos which make people stay in their place,
Even a deaf child can recognize when a person lies and says a different thing to their face.
I write this piece to show people how violence kills all who hold it,
All those who live by the sword will then fall because of it.
