dont listen to tha duesche above me.... i've only heard of ppl NEEDING a preamp for condensers... i own the sm58 legendary shure instrumental mic and record with it daily... you DO NOT need a pre amp... maybe you have the wrong cord or ur hooking it up the wrong way... get at me if u need help...
