A friend of mine once said,
"Be careful, please, be careful
The wind of sweet summer
Will turn its snarling head"
Not a word of this did I heed
I was in no hour of need
But hours passed and at the stroke of seven
All good souls were thrown out of heaven
Brought to a place of fire and damnation
All the dead of this wonderful nation
Spirits came silently
Whispering voices on the wind
"We are the spirits of hell-fire and crimson"
The wind howled
The rain pelted hard
Tearing the beauty of our world to shards
The wind howled on and would not cease
Waking up the children from dreams of peace
In pure fright they awoke, this dark dreary night
Waking up to darkness instead of morning light
"We are the spirits of hell-fire and crimson
Giving you darkness cause light is a sin
Stealing your heart, ripping you apart from within
This is what we do...we'll destroy your kin"
Engulfed by the fire
That will burn you away
Till you're nothing but ashes
You will surely pay
Never will you see another dawning day
And never will we go away
With that the light was snuffed out
Never to be rekindled
And in the dark of night,
The voices of the spirits mingled
This time though from the mouths of the people
Whom the spirits hath turned red-eyed and evil:
"Never again will we see the brightness of day
Living in darkness not only today
In this zombie-like state forever we will stay
Cause we don't have light to brighten our way
Please spirits, please take us away"
That's how the spirits ruled this earth
Taking every child's innocence from their birth
Filling their heads with words of the devil
The storm this one night caused major upheavel
It will go down in history
As a night the angels will dread
The day the wind of sweet summer
