yeah to make beats on an apple...well you going to use the same thing as regular pc's hence..fruity loops blah blah blah besides garage band which you already said you dislike...i got a mac i use it mor e for recording like with pro-tools and such because they are more stable than regular pc's so im really not sure what exactly your looking for but the best thing is to probably go buy an akai ...or a triton
