OK...Here's the question...Are parents responsible for payin for school?

I've had this debate/discussion with a number of people
I personally say yes parents are responsible for paying for school because a child can't possibly save up enough to pay for it themselves. From birth to 17 (when most graduate from highschool) when exactly are they supposed to ear enough money to pay for school?
College to me is another expense parents should be responsible for...
kids shouldn't have to work
parents who didn't make provisions for their kids to go to school failed them
wuts ur opinion on this?
