Missing Mom's Reward uped to $100G
IP:
PHILADELPHIA — A reward for information leading to the discovery of the whereabouts of a missing Philadelphia woman has been increased to $100,000, authorities said Tuesday.
Latoyia Figueroa, 25, who is five months pregnant, was last seen July 18. She has a 7-year-old daughter, whom friends and family say she would never abandon.
There previously had been a $10,000 reward offered.
Local philanthropists, the staff of the restaurant where she worked and rap star Beanie Sigel were among those who contributed to the additional reward.
The reward is administered by the Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley.
A pregnant woman who was last seen July 18 remains missing, police said Wednesday.
Figueroa was very responsible and never missed shifts at her restaurant job until her disappearance, said Christine Lewes, a childhood friend and high school classmate.
"It's unusual for her to do something like this. She's not the type of person to just disappear," Joseph Taylor, an uncle, said. "So far there's nothing that gives me hope from what I'm hearing."
Police said Friday that the father of the baby has been cooperating with investigators. Police said they do not have suspects or a motive.
