Unlike windows, DOS is so simple, you'd have to do something really stupid like delete the wrong files to break it.

You don't actually need to have a Windows 98 disk to reformat the computer with XP. When you boot up with the XP install disk, there is an option to partition and format the disk. Don't remember the exact steps, but I remember doing it when I reinstalled XP pro on the laptop.

Don't know about XP, but I run Win2k on the desktop and it is pretty stable as long as you don't do stupid stuff to it like getting it infected with virii, ad/spyware. Before I rebooted last week after install microsoft patches, it was up for 43 days straight. without problems.

Man you know what programs do these days? They automatically download themselves without asking, then they parade around as spyware protectors and download a bunch of virus's and tell you that to get rid of them, you need to buy their software..

Its the dumbest scam I've seen in my life.. Like anyone would ever buy their shit to get rid of a problem they started. I'll try putting the xp cd in now and see if it works.. Its still a hassel compared to how it used to be..

First computer I ever got was like.. 128mhz or something around there.. Used to play doom 2 on it -_-
