New DTP Recruits

IP:

Recently Ludacris signed Southern Hip-Hop act Field Mob to his Disturbing Tha Peace imprint. He will also be joined by the group on his upcoming Anger Management Tour dates.

Field Mob's third album, Light Poles and Palm Trees, is set to be released in November on DTP/Geffen. The Albany, Georgia natives, Shawn Jay and Smoke, will feature H-Town heavyweight Bun B, ATL super producer Jazze Pha, and R&B crooner Bobby Valentino among others, on the upcoming LP. Luda is also bringing the group along with him to perform on The Anger Management Tour

"Shawn Jay and Smoke are two of the top ten lyrical emcees in the South," says Chaka Zulu, Co-CEO of DTP Records. "Field Mob being added to DTP strengthens our movement and makes us untouchable."

Field Mob's Smoke and Shawn Jay (formerly called Boondox and Kalage) are most known for their 2002 hit "Sick of Being Lonely" from their second album From Tha Roota To Tha Toota. The Mob is currently causing a buzz with their new song "Georgia" which features label boss Luda and samples from Ray Charles' classic "Georgia On My Mind."

"I feel like we're the most posturepedic group in the industry right now," says Shawn Jay of Mob's underrated status in the South. "Meaning, we're the most slept-on artists. Other artists know that if them boys get a little bit of light, its over."

Field Mob's Light Poles and Palm Trees is set to hit stores in November. In the meantime you can catch them at upcoming Anger Management Tour stops featuring Ludacris.
