aint no way to escape it. the only people that did was rocker kurt cobain (played for nirvana). he was semi-controlled by his record label, then nirvana became really big and he made songs like "rape me" and "moist vagina". then he blew his head off. and the bassist committed suicide later, but nobody gave a shit. then the drummer created his own label and gave birth to the foo fighters. and now dave grohl is practically his own music, playin in several bands as different roles and managing his own shit, doing what he wants.
