These 2 big companies decided that with the demand on fossil fuels getting higher and higher especially with china and other developing countries entering the competition for the fuel.

The plan is to get people used to paying high gas prices so when the hybrid SUVs come in people will be used to it.

Toyota (highlander Hybrid) has one that delivers 265 horsepower 31 mpg / 27 mpg

The Chevy Suburban has 295 horsepower gets 14 mpg / 18 mpg

40 gallon SUV tank
x
$2 per gallon
-----
$80 per tank
x
12 mpg city
-----
480 miles per tank

thats $.016 Per mile

now this is with a hybrid and the gas @ $5 per gallon and 30 mpg

40 gallon SUV tank
x
$5 per gallon
-----
$200 per tank
x
30 mpg city
-----
600 miles per tank

thats $.33 Per mile

Then the people will say "man I am so glad to be out of that gas guzzler" and not notice that we are being screwed.

Check my math if you see what I see, please use the same senario substituting your own data (your MPG and Tank size) and tell if if I am Crazy as my friends say

K holl up... your math seems weird... first off..... why would u pay 2 bucks a gallon... for gas..... in a suburban..... but pay 5 bucks a gallon in a hybrid.. the gas is the same... its the other portion thats not.... hybrids are both gas and hydrogen..... so technically it would be cheaper gas consumption wise ti use a hybrid..... as it would be $80 x 30 mpg.....making it cheaper... but w/e... fuckin americans and their "gas shortages"... Canada doesnt have that up here... lol
