Man... Seriously..

Rap has nothing to do with poetry..
Why is it that every man and his dog tries to sound deep by throwing around words like poetry when talking about rap.. When I sit down to write my songs, the last thing on my mind is "Ooh I'm gonna be real poetical in this verse"..

Wtf.. Does this shit sound like poetry to you:

You bloody nuns; I'll give the crowd what they came for.
Pick a straight whore; rip her brains raw with a chain saw.
Still remain all; ruthless to leave ya crew toothless.
Like two kids; acting stupid in a booth with.
The illest rappers around; quick damage ya town.
With hammers that pound an activist down.
You cat'll be ground, by my rhyme morter and pestle.
On-board with the best crew, dopium all gonna test you.
And yeah;
I'm at it again; back like an addict with pens.
Smackng ya friends; with these raps that offend.
Whether I slash or stab you depends; the bad habbits of men.

etc etc etc...
Hell no it doesent.....
But is that rap? Hell yes it is..

Its such an underground myth that rapping is like poetry.. Poetry uses words to describe and provoke feelings and emotions.. Rap lyrics use more real straight up language to get a point accross.. Thats not a personal preference, thats what THE MAJORITY of people enjoy hearing in rap songs. Underground junky net heads sometimes like it the other way around, but wow @ how small that target audience actually is..

Fact is..
If you rapped some poetry to a beat, it is extremily rare that it would sound any good as a song.. Just like if you spoke some rap lyrics as poetry, it is extremily rare it would work at all or appeal to a poetry audience..

Dont get it twisted..
