Buying KRS-1's album isnt gonna make someone suddenly know what hip hop is and I think if your telling people stuff like that, it might not be your area of expertise, to the extent where you would do a good job teaching people about hip hop.

Nah mean?

Slow down son, first of all I understand all of the aspects of hip hop probably more than you'll ever know. I've been an mc, part of a breaking crew, hip hop promoter, and basically involved with hip hop as long as I can remember. This thread was only a beginning to talk about the first aspects of hip hop, and if you wouldn't have jumped to conclusion and have heard the album I am referring to KRS speaks of all of the aspects of hip hop as well as different styles of hip hop. So next time sonny before you go jumping to conclusions, listen to the album I'm referring to first. And yes hip hop is all styles of music, it is mc'ing, it is break dancing, it is graffitti, it is djing, it is beat boxing, it is sooo much more that you are right on, you just should have dug a little deeper into the message I was trying to get across. For example if your teaching somebody to learn how to dive do you first show them how to do a tripel summersault with a twist, no first you teach them the basics of diving. My point was only to open some eyes to an album which in itself can help people understand the basic elements of hip hop and where it came from, this is a very educational album. Peace...
