I say Rap is a Form of poetry....Just like R&B songs are....Its A way to express yurself through verse....Yu cant say that because the artist isnt rhyming deep or wahtever, taht it isnt poetry....There is no ONE WAY to write a poem.... Therefore, Yu cannot say sumone isnt writting it "properly".....unless its completely off....like yu writing a novel or sum shit like taht
It has nothing to do with wehn Rap was born .vs. when Poetry was born....Becuase its true Literature was born well before, Yet poetry is a form of it....

poetry it can be abstract as aswell
Bottom line is:...POETRY DOES NOT HAVE A CONCRETE SET OF GUIDELINES....and RAP DOES fall into a catagory of Poetry....its a genre of it...despite the content...cuz i've read deep/on the surface poems...
