I dunno, I don't think rap is poetry. Rap is alot more upfront about feelings. You never see a poet say exactly what he means obviously. Angelo said, :I know why the cage bird sings". You ever see a rapper say that? I think rock is alot more like poetry for its lyrics. Rap is almost like a competition and there's actually a skill level involved. And you can't have a poetry battle.(off rv that is )
