AZ shouldn't have been the one you payed attention to on "Affirmative Action". Cormega, one of the strongest QB rappers, used to be in The Firm along with Nas, AZ, Nature, and Foxy Brown. He's put out a few albums, the best ones being "The Realness" (2001), and "The True Meaning" (2002). He's the guy Nas went after in the first verse of Destroy and Rebuild.
