10. The hype built up around heads from other sites coming to RV. This has mostly been involving RB heads, but the most recent deals with a few from b-boys. John Hensley and ClasSick came to RV and joined up for the Tag Tourney. Everybody started getting uppity and said that they were automatically going to win the whole tourney. Then round 1 came around...and they no-showed. All that ruckus for nothing.
9. SmokaJoka's "death". IN the summer of '04, the RB crew Insane Joker Lyricists created a chapter on RV. A few months later, IJL's leader SmokaJoka666, was claimed to be deceased due to...well I think it was liver problems. A few weeks went by, and then it was unveiled as a hoax. A lot of people got mad, but you gotta love it. For this started one of the most beloved trends amongst RV's trademark herbs.
8. The continuous string of horrible league/tourney modding. It started with Flow Intelligent, ducking out on the promised cash prizes in KORV. Then KORV2 came along, and he did it again. R-Rated then became mod of KORV2, and started predicting himself to win it all. That was a red flag from the start, though nobody besides myself noticed it. It became evident, however, when Rated battled Jack The Ripper and got mad because he was losing. Then he started deleting votes and overall just started a hissy fit. He was promptly de-modded. After that there were such fiascos as Coast Wars, Fall Audio Tourney, Best of the Sets, Verbal Emotions IV, and RapVerse Text League.
7. "RV Spamathon 2005". CALI tried to organize the spamming of some smaller forum, but the mods of the target site came over and owned him before his idea even got put into action. Hilarity ensued, along with CAPITAL LETTERS and the

smiley.
6. Turban's annual race riots. These incidents must have the record for most duplicate threads in a period of 2 weeks. There was a lot of beef, a lot of e-feelings getting hurt, and a lot of ignorance. The funny thing about it is...he did it 2 years in a row, and got the same huge reaction each time.
5. 9th Degree's slew of Battle of the Month awards. For over half a year, 9th was unstoppable when it came to the RV Awards, earning 7 consecutive awards for Battle of the Month. He won 6 of them, facing some of RV's top text battlers (JTR, Fuxjustaword, etc.), and finally fell to Mimesis in August.
4. RV Spamming RB. Not sure whose idea it originally was, but several RV heads (including CALI and villagepimp) went over to RB and cluttered the hell out of the site. Tons of pointless threads were made, the best being VP's "Has Anyone Ever Had Sex With a Goat?". After the fun was over, Chrit stopped by to tell everyone who was involved that he and RB's admins were going to talk to strobe and have them banned from both sites. This only resulted in more whining from RV.
3. The first KORV tournament. At the time, Socrates and Pop Lotty were looked down upon by such "dope vets"(

) as CALI and Troop...harshly. Lotty would be attacked due to his losing record, Socrates for the fact that he lost to both CALI and Troop...when he was a newb. Then KORV came along, and it was quite surprising. KORV contained a few RB textcees like Chrit, Feeble, and Shadows Edge, neither of which made it to the finals. Soc and Pop made it to the champ. match (with Soc winning), and proved a lot of opinions to be dead wrong.
2. The audio movement. Enygma was one of the first to make the switch, but he was far from being the only one. SevenThird, DeadlyVision and Calamity crossed over around the same time, and soon after, a lot of text heads decided to "retire" and become strictly audio. This did wonders for the activity in the Songs and Audio Battles forums.
1. The split. Yes, this is the biggest thing to happen on RV, because without the split we might all be on RB. And I know what a lot of you think about RB, so imagine if that was your home forum.
