ya''ll are completely and utterly off topic...I've said a million times why people topping the charts these days top the charts...if you sell big numbers in your area where you're from peole will want to sign you...you wanna be famous get off the FUCKing internet and meet REAL people, do something with your life...yeah, I'm here too but ya'll dunno what I'm doing off here cuz you dunno me...which also means iono if YOU'RE doing other shit either...but the basic point is, the industry is all about numbers, how much you can sell and how much you'll make...
people like Mike Jones and Lil' Flip are selling a lot but they're getting screwed in the end, and you know why?...cuz they take HUGE advances and will never re-coop the money their label gives them off the top for signing...no matter how many albums Lil' Flip sells he'll prolly never re0coop the like 20 miLLion he got off signing with his label...DMX got FUCKed by his label too, prolly the worst deal in the history of rap, that's why he doesn't do shit now...cuz he doesn't wanna give them any more of his money...
far as Triple N goes, yes he has a sikk ass voice for rap...yes, his lyrical techniQue as far as using metaphors, multies, wordplay and all that is above average for someone here on RV...but does that mean he'll sell a million records? no...does that even mean he should be treated like he's the rap GOD of RV, again no...
there are lots of people on this site that are good and I named some of them on my list, but ya'll aren't paying attention to anything besides who "sounds" the kewlest and catches your ear at 1st time the most...you gotta look deeper into shit than that if you're a HIP HOP fan, not just a RAP fan....
and quit arguing about why the industry is how it is....it is how it is cuz people that say they appreciate the culture of HipHop don't go buy CDs, they just DL them instead...support your favorite rapper by BUYING their latest album, nmot DLing it and sending it to ya other friends...if ya'll quit bitching and go buy shit then the face of the industry will be forced to change...labels only supply what people demand and if you don't like the TRASH being supplied, you need to demand something else
