Now I can admit, at first I didn’t understand Apo’s punchline, but that was because I was pronouncing “Pos” wrong. Then when I actually got it right it turned out to be a fucking dope punch. Easily one of, if not the best of the week. I warned people about Apo and said he would be a contender, and I warned Apostrophe to stop dropping below his potential. I guess he didn’t take notice because he dropped below his skill level and got beaten badly. It wasn’t displayed in the voting because it ended 4-1, but really the battle deserved a lot more attention. Congratulations to Apotropaic for taking the title.


Contendership Match: 3. Vaskez vs. 4. DaTrusHurtz

Firstly, thank god that there wasn’t another tired “Da Truth” nameplay, I swear if I see another one of those I will vote for the other dude even if he drops ass. Anyway, the battle was cool, evenly matched as it went by the votes with it going back and forth all the way to the end. Eventually Vaskez came away the winner by 1 vote, personally I thought that DTH had the better wordplay in his bar, but it wasn’t down to me to decide, so congrats to Vaskez who will be facing Apo in the Championship Match this week.

A close battle looking at the punches, however in the votes Mr. Key took every one coming away with what looked like an easy KO victory. Both punches were witty, I think that the way people saw it was that Greatness had a more simple punch than Mr. Key, at least that is how I looked at it. Both had a comical element to them, but Mr. Key came less basic so naturally he would take the win.


7. FuxJustAWord vs. 8. Fraud

Wow, to look at the match up in this battle it would seem like a mismatch. Fraud is practically an unknown and not really rated high, and Fux is rated as one of the best and has been for a long time. But then to see the punch that Fux brought was shocking because it really wasn’t that good. And fraud brought a real nice punch which I think Hotshh! described best as…

It really was that kind of a punch, you looked at it and thought “that was dope, why didn’t I ever think of that?” So props to Fraud for coming up with the punch and he is slowly earning respect in this league by my opinion.

Really, Spektikul never ceases to amaze me, he always says he is going to drop half-assed and people think he is joking, but he always does. This time was no different, another half-assed punch. He even told me the concept he was using on MSN and I couldn’t believe he would do it, but he did. So, I got to say props on sticking to your guns. Even though Spek should’ve lost this battle, Blaze couldn’t stick to the rules and found out the hard way that Mimesis does enforce his rules no matter what. Spektikul took the win by having Young Blaze disqualified.


11. Hopesfall vs. 12. KOOL COL-B

Man, Col-B is like a fucking legend. Each week he drops a cheesy ass corny fucked bar, but it always makes me crack up. If I had to pick a winner I would pick Kool just for the humour of his punches. But, voters don’t see it my way as they all voted for Hopesfall. They seemed to frown on the fact that Kool explained his punch, and really it was unnecessary. Hopesfall’s punch wasn’t all that good for me, the concept was ok but the delivery was weak, nevertheless he took the easy win.


13. Crazy Hades vs. 14. Typical

Everyone hates this Typical guy, no one cares what this dude chooses,

The upsets in this league are amazing; here you’ve got a straight up ‘Topical Head’ who is beating everybody he comes up against. Typical seems to be falling off lately and dropping weak punches. Seriously, the attempted personal punch was weak. Even though Crazy Hades forced his wordplay like a son of a bitch he still easily took the win receiving almost all of the votes.

This was probably the weakest battle in the Top 16, L.I. came with some half-assed bullshit and Daubs just dropped a no-show bar. You should always count on your opponent showing…NO MATTER WHAT!! And another point to make, Daubs you should drop the 3-line style or at least figure out when you should and shouldn’t use it. That bar you dropped, there was no need for it, maybe you just use it because you think it looks cool. Anyway, L.I. took this battle with a knockout victory, no question.
