n wutchu mean u cant cut, ne1 can cut
u jus doin it wrong
this is wut i do, n it can work wit ne1:
1) zoom in to about 500% (more or less if u find that it works better for u)
2) use the polygonal lasso tool (set the feather between 0 and 2, also up to u)
3) start somewhere on the pic's edge, n keep goin
cut as close as possible, n take ur time...ne1 can do this, u jus gotta be patient
the first time mite take a while, but after u've done a few u shud be able to cut a pic in less then 5 mins
4) after u have ur whole render selected (the part u want to cut), either copy it n pase it into another document, or select the inverse and delete it
i'd recommend invertin n deletin cuz then u can save the cut for later use (or as a backup copy)

some tips....
•use ctrl-shift to add to ur selection, n ctrl-alt to remove from it
•use a feather (about 2) for long hair
•NEVER cut with the eraser or magic wand tool (unless you are removing from a solid color bg)
•u can try the manetic lasso, but i wouldnt suggest it, some people are good with it, n it makes the work faster, but the cut is lower quality n after u do about 5 cuts urself u shud be able to cut wit the polygonal lasso faster neways
