ok to be honest.. the mxl 990 is crap.. is low and its dull.. for the money i guess its a good buy, but 50 dollars aint shit, ya dig ?.. but if u HAVE to have something now.. get that and a presonus preamp.. ya shits still gonna sound bad tho.. cause you need a good sound card.. so i mean for the money and shit.. get a nice pre-amp and that mic.. that should do you OK.. but for real help id say go to RB.. they know more about audio than alot of places.. Opey knows hellas about studio equip and startin people up.. he started me up and im doin pretty good
