It wasnt stolen you idiot, we went to war for it. And they should have just given it to us, thus avoiding the war and the idiotic move to lost men over a war they couldnt win. PLUS, its not like the US was a superpower at that point, obviously, if we were still collecting land, we were not a force to be reckoned with. So its not like it was a given we were going to win.
