Call me crazy, but, I've been thinking about this as a new hobby

IP:

During the mid to late 80s, my parents apparently were into recording movies they rented from Erols (now defunct) and Blockbuster video. Then, they started their own video business in the early 90s. During that span of about 10 years, they amassed about 500 movies and about 200 video jobs, all recorded on video cassette. I was thinking about asking my folks if I could get all those movies and projects and convert them to DVD and/or digital media. I figure that'd take at least a year to convert all those video cassettes to DVD. I know there are machines out there for that very purpose.

So, what do you all think?

Also, my mom was a part of this CD club back in the 80s as well. She bought about 200 CDs of 80s/early 90s music. I was gonna ask her for all of them so I could rip them into I tunes and then put them on an Ipod for her as a gift.
