That's definitely not true in most cases.
There is a culture of the affluent. Some people were born into it while others became rich.
Personally, I look at hip hop as an art form, nothing as deep as what some make it out to be. It is a culture though because you can engross yourself in the style of it. It makes sense when you compare it to country and rock music. Can you imagine Toby Keith dressing like Eminem, or Bono acting like 50 cent?
